Sponsorship FAQs

A. You can sponsor a child's entire care for one year for $2004 via check or credit card or in 12 installments via automatic withdrawal from a debit or credit card. To see the breakdown of how that $2004 is allocated, click here.

Q. Are there other options available to sponsor a child if I am not able to provide the entire financial care for a year?

A. Yes. You can also sponsor a child providing partial yet critical support by making a monthly donation from $25 per month or more via automatic withdrawal from a debit or credit card.

Q. Can my sponsorship be automatically withdrawn from my checking account?

A. At this time, we can only set up automatic withdrawals from your debit or credit card.

Q. What does my sponsorship provide?

A. Your donation covers costs holistically to take care of the child, including housing, food, clothing, medical care and education.

Q. If I can only provide partial support for a child, how will the remaining needs for the child be met?

A. Your contribution will be combined with those of other sponsors and administered by the mother of that family, under our supervision, to ensure all of the family's needs are taken care of.

Q. Once I commit to sponsor a child, will that child's background information and a photo be provided to me?

A. For privacy, the name of the child and sensitive information about that child's background will not be made available. But you will receive regular information about the Joy Village families via photos, emails, letters and newsletters.

Q. What happens if my situation changes and I am no longer able to continue sponsoring a child?

A. Although we hope to develop long term relationships with our sponsors, you may stop sponsoring a child at any time; please just let us know in writing.

Q. Are any administrative or other costs deducted from my sponsorship donations?

A. No. 100% of child sponsorship donations go to the care of the children.

Q. Is my sponsorship donation tax deductible?

A. Yes, all donations are tax deductible.

Q. Will I receive a statement of my contributions for tax purposes?

A. Yes. Tree of Lives is a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code (tax ID number: 47-4993846). We will provide you with a record of your contributions shortly after year-end.
