MEET A HOLY CENTER PATIENT

Mary (name changed for privacy) is a single mother of 10 children and her last child born is HIV positive. She earns money by performing casual jobs at neighboring tea farms. However, the jobs are not stable, and she does not earn a lot of money. In fact, most tea pickers earn less than $2.00 a day. She is enrolled in the clinic to help garner food support. The food packs that are provided usually contain maize flour, beans and porridge flour which provide a balanced diet containing all the nutrients and in proper proportions. With help from the HFC team she and her baby are thriving.
